VII/ DIGITALISATION
2. process management
"After the new ERP system was introduced, we couldn't send out invoices for half a year."
"The planned implementation period for our new software was twice as long as planned."
Two examples of many of how the introduction of software initially has the opposite effect of increasing efficiency and is usually applied much later.
We were able to identify three main causes.
1) Most software offers only limited customisation options or customising is extremely expensive. The consequence is that the processes in the companies adapt to the software.
2. the task briefings to the software companies are usually poorly developed in terms of content. As a result, necessary questions are not dealt with in advance, but during the introduction, which significantly prolongs the introduction.
3. the process-actual situation is usually not recorded, or not in sufficient quality. Here, too, it usually only becomes clear during the introduction phase that certain process-related steps cannot be implemented or can only be implemented at great expense.
For this reason, process management and its status-quo recording and, if necessary, optimisation play a decisive role in the success of software solutions before they are introduced.
The results of the recording/optimisation flow into the requirements briefing for the software provider.
readyCon supports you in recording the process management status and creating the requirements briefing for the software provider.
